Recruiting:

Providing a complete service to clients and the public in general, takes a LOT of man-hours. Research, investigations, footage review, website & hardware maintenance, photo analysis, all takes time; and that's not everything. There is a lot of back-end work that takes place. We need people who want to investigate in the field... and those who only have time to take care of other projects.

These are NOT paid positions. We are volunteers looking to use our unique skills as a team, to produce an amazing, informative product for the benefit of those who are interested in the paranormal. We ALL volunteer our time. We all share in the glory of success! This is an opportunity for people of all ages to get into a environment by which to learn new skills and exersize our talents. This is a safe place to use your skills and talents to produce a LIVE and publicly visible website to showcase those skills. We are here to learn AND TO teach.

The SMP family inderstands, we do not all have the same schedules. We are parents, employees, employers, chaperones, soccer moms/dads, single parents, firefighters, police officers, teachers, attorneys, students... basically, we are all VERY busy. WE GET IT! This is why we want to put together a large, strong team. Having a large team, we are able to delegate small tasks to a larger group of people, as opposed to a LOT of large tasks to just a few people. SMP Management works with the entire team, with each individual, to find the right balance. If you need to take a few weeks off to handle basketball games, cheerleader practice, let us know.

Being as most of the people on the SMP team are parents, we encourage young people to come, get involved, learn something new and get out for some fresh air! We will accept people as young as 13, however, we will not allow anyone under 18 to join an investigation, UNLESS, that person's parent is ALSO an official investigator on the team. But we would like to teach young people something new if they are interested, with parental approval, of course! If you would like more details, come talk to us on the Discussion Forums. We would like to tell you all about our opportunities.

We understand, no one wants to "do something for nothing", unless you are particularly driven, as we are, and are passionate about the paranormal and learning more about it. So, for those young people who join SMP, the President will write a letter of recommendation on the behalf of that individual. The letter can be added as a reference for a job or a letter of acheivement for those who are applying to colleges. The President will write a letter specifically detailing the task(s) he or she performed, relevent to the job or field of study, on SMP letterhead, while they were part of the Southern Maryland Paranormal family!
